HULL INTEGRITY & LIFE EXPECTANCY SURVEY

HILES is the survey which gives a vision to life expectancy of each hull structural element providing anticipated thickness for the next 2.5 and 5 years respectively. HILES includes the coating and condition assessment of structural elements in accordance with client requirements, thus enabling him to plan the Approval For Expenditure (AFE) accordingly.

Tank Inspection Scope of Work

  • The scope is inclusive of full Hull Gauging as part of Class Renewal/Special survey. Steel estimation will be made according to renewal/substantial categories specified by the diminution in class rules.
  • The scope shall include the inspection and reporting of the conditions of the vessels tanks with particular reference to the condition of the coating currently in place, break down of the coating and shall report any structural deterioration that may require further UT gauging and inspection.
  • The inspections shall be conducted with an overall view towards assessing the life expectancy of the current coating system.

Benefits of HILES

HILES shall be performed during the class renewal survey or the condition survey with having the benefits of expecting calculation for the next renewal survey.
